Some of these action points included engagements with stakeholders such as; International (USAID, JICA, GIZ, Dutch Embassy, Sipp, UKAID, SheTrade etc.), National (NAHE, ARTNAG, AITAG, EXIM Bank, GEPA, Ministry of Trade, Chieftaincy, Forestry, Tourism). During brainstorming sessions on how FTGN could raise income, it was agreed that introductory letters be sent to donors. This was to be followed by series of meetings and submission of proposals. One other outcome of this planning meeting was that, the membership of the advocacy and the finance committees were constituted.
EXECUTIVES OF FAIR TRADE GHANA NETWORK ORGANISE FIRST PLANNING MEETING
Barely a month after being sworn into office, the executives of Fair trade Ghana Network organised a three (3) day planning meeting from 25th- 28th February, 2022 in Apam, the Central Region of Ghana to effectively brainstorm in promoting the agenda of FTGN for the year 2022. In attendance also was the newly recruited Network Coordinator, Mr. Felix Ayambire. This meeting took the form of presentations and deliberations where the executives provided details of the present situations, potentials and challenges in the art and craft, fruits and nuts, and cocoa sectors. The Network coordinator also brought forth his strategies for the growth of the network. Critical action points at providing support for Producer organisations as well as revamping members’ interest were agreed on.
