FTGN Participates in Fair Trade Day Event in Plateau, Ivory Coast

RICE ( http://www.rice-ci.com/ ) , the fair trade certified network of organisations in Ivory Coast, held Fair Trade Day Events in the country on the 20th and 21st of January, 2022.FTGN was able to participate in these events.

It was a gathering of representatives from all producer organisations, government officials, partners, stakeholders and the general public. There were several panel discussions that focused on Impact of fair trade, women empowerment and contribution in cocoa and partners contributions.
Gracing the event were the minister for environment in Cote d’voire and the mayor for Abidjan. Present were also people from partner organisations, which are AVSF and Commerce Equitable France (CEF) who are also funding supporters of the events. Members of RICE were able to interact with stakeholders and share ideas on several issues relating to cocoa farming, trade, biodiversity conservation and sustainability.

Both day one and two included exhibition of products from various cooperatives including FTGN.
Fair Trade Day is celebrated across the globe in various countries including Ghana in different months. We look forward to engage RICE in Fair Trade Day celebration here in Ghana. The two days events ended with a dinner for the attendance to eat, dance and socialize.
