THE PRESIDENT AND THE COORDINATOR OF FAIR TRADE GHANA NETWORK ATTEND THE 2023 SALON INTERNATIONAL DE L’AGRICULTURE ET DES RESOURCES ANIMALES (SARA) IN ABIDJAN, COTE D’VOIRE

The President, Mrs. Florence Blankson and the Coordinator Mr. Felix Ayambire of Fair Trade Ghana Network attended the 2023 Salon International De L’agriculture et des Resources Animales (SARA) in Abidjan, Cote D’voire from 29th September 2023 to 8th October, 2023. The EQUITY 2 project Partners, Agronomists and Veterinarians without borders (AVSF) and Commerce Equitable France (CEF) sponsored representatives from the various National platforms of Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso and Cote Dvoire to attend this important event.

The SARA commenced on the 29th of September 2023 with the President of Cote D’voire, Alasanne Quattara gracing and launching the exhibition during the opening ceremony at the Salon D’esposition. The SARA is an international Agriculture and Animal exhibition organized every two years and brings people from across the globe. The EQUITY 2 Project secured a stand for the National Platforms to exhibit products of their members.
Products including, Pineapple Jam, Fresh Pineapple in Shrub, dried pineapple, dried coconut, dried mango, coconut oil, etc from two member-organisations in Ghana; ACOPPs & AMOPPA Organic Producers and Exporters Limited and HPW Fresh and dry were exhibited. Banners of FTGN were placed at vantage points for visibility. Other communication materials such as flyers, brochures and notepads were distributed to the prospective clients. An attendance list was used to gather information from over 200 prospective clients and members for follow ups.
Key Highlights ➢ Visit of the Ambassador of France to Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Jean-Christophe Belliard, to the stand of the National Platforms at the Salon de l'Agriculture in Abidjan ➢ Day on deforestation organized by the Ministry of Water and Forests, and meeting with the delegation of the European Union to Côte d'Ivoire to discuss the support of producers in complying with the European regulation on deforestation ➢ Conference organized within the framework of the Equity 2 program on fair trade as an accelerator of the agroecological transition.
➢ The Coordinator and President of FTGN visits to corporate stands such as Care International-Cote D’voire, Solidaridad, IFDC, etc. to hold fruitful discussions on partnerships.
